** LESSON: Frost severity **
When actual or forecast air temperatures fall below 0 degree, the severity of the frost is described arbitrarily by the terms 'Slight', 'Moderate', 'Severe' or 'Very severe' according to the temperature and the surface wind speed at the time (see below graph from the Met Office training manual):
